Please leave plenty of time to register for MTD for VAT once you have filed your last return under the old process.
Please note that HM Revenue Customs has warned that the registration process for Making Tax Digital for VAT, due to come into effect from 1 April, may take up to seven days to complete.
You also need to ensure you leave 15 days for HM Revenue & Customs if you pay your VAT on direct debit whilst they change your direct debit payment set up from the old system to the new MTD system.
If you file monthly VAT returns and pay by direct debit it is particularly important you plan around these dates.
