As part of the firm’s commitment to support the communities in which we all work and live, the Streets Whittles partners have lent their support to a concert performed by the London Welsh Male Voice Choir (LWMVC) at the Mercury Theatre in Colchester on Saturday 5th April.

The prestigious choir, formed in 1902 and now boasting over 100 members, will be supported on the night by Colchester’s Chorus Iceni, an all-female voiced a cappella choir based in north Essex.

The concert is to raise funds for ‘Lizzie’s Fund’,(part of The Brain Tumour Charity) and all proceeds will go towards research into childhood brain tumours. As well as raising much needed funds, the charity wishes to raise awareness of brain tumours, which are biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40.

The event is being organised by Peter H Jones, a member of the LWMVC and former Headmaster of Littlegarth School in Nayland which had been attended by Lizzie Bramall, in whose memory the charity was founded.

Streets Whittles partner Rachel Skells explains why she and her fellow partners are happy to support the concert:
So many aspects of our community are brought together in this initiative. It is being held at our local theatre, The Mercury, the “artistic powerhouse in the East” which we have supported as “Footlight Partners” for decades; in Peter it is being organised by one of the most respected educators of our region and by focussing on Lizzie, it is about fundraising for a nationwide cause but in the memory of someone who was known to many. It is a great cause but also, as a choral singer myself, I look forward to an enjoyable evening, celebrating the art of singing with other members of the Streets Whittles team.”
